INFORMATION

Derek Doublin is a multi-faceted artist whose talents and skills spread across a vast array of visual mediums. His large scale art has been featured on the front page of the Los Angeles Times as well as Rolling Stone Magazine, NBC, and The Huffington Post..  His painting "State of Pause" won the Hallmark Gold Key Award and was placed on display at The White House. And his short films have been featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live, MTV and PBS.

But first and foremost, Derek is a filmmaker.

Derek Doublin started out as a one-man filmmaker in Oklahoma. He was discovered by a producer at ABC and brought on as a segment director for Jimmy Kimmel Live. There he was responsible for creating short films, sketches and music videos for the show. It was in this atmosphere where he learned to work with A-list celebrities such as Justin Timberlake, Matt Damon and Jessica Alba under the harshest deadlines in show business.

Derek is currently a commercial director and cinematographer. For two years he shot specifically for the NBA. Currently he shoots for some of the largest agencies and the biggest brands in the world, including Marriott, Disney, Hanes, Westfield, Sports Illustrated, and Comedy Central.

in 2015 Derek had the unique privilege of advancing his craft by studying under the great Yuri Neyman, ASC as well as Academy Award winner, Vilmos Zsigmond, ASC (Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Deer Hunter). He continues to study his craft and never stops experimenting.

For the past 5 years, Derek has had the great honor of being hired as the National Sierra Club's head cinematographer and is sent on environmental documentary assignments all over the country.

Derek works in the cinematic arts because it is one of the few vehicles that is composed of a variety of different artistic mediums, where all of his extraneous skills come into play.  He is incredibly passionate about creating

and making art, and will continue to push the limits of his imagination until he ceases to be...
